Adidas is reinforcing its ties with the German national football team (DFB), of which it has been the sponsor for a long time. The DFB will be training for the 2020 European Football Championship (Uefa Euro 2020) at World of Sports, Adidas' headquarters in Herzogenaurach. Preceding the announcement was a cute advertising campaign, with an anonymous classified-style ad appearing in newspapers, online and posted around German towns. The news broke the next day in a video on social media. Should it qualify for the tournament's finals, the DFB will be collaborating with Adidas to tailor the facilities at World of Sports for its purposes. Any rooms or structures added for DFB's players, coaches or officials will later be used by Adidas employees. As things stand, World of Sports offers a football stadium with capacity for about 4,000 spectators, beach volleyball courts, a tennis court, a basketball court, climbing walls and a gymnasium. It is surrounded by forests and situated 20 km from Nuremberg Airport and two hours by road from Munich's Allianz Arena, the only tournament venue in Germany. The rest of the finals will take place in 11 other European countries, from June 12 to July 12, 2020. World of Sports has previously hosted DFB for the Fifa Confederations Cup in 2005 and the Argentine national team for the 2006 Fifa World Cup. As we reported in April, the most recent expansion at World of Sports is the 52,000-square-meter Arena building. The headquarters overall has a staff of about 5,600, which is about a tenth of Adidas' worldwide headcount.
