Adidas has unveiled the MC87 4D, a limited edition model of spikeless golf shoes that combines a clean and classic upper with the futuristic 4D midsole. The shoes are based on a gender-neutral last and are available in various men’s and women’s sizes on adidas.com, the Adidas app and at select retailers.
The MC87 4D is inspired by the classic 1980s models, making a comeback among golfers today. In particular, the shoe’s upper is inspired by a model the brand debuted in 1987 – the Tiverton – which featured wing tips, brogue stitching and croc textures in a classic leather upper. The MC87 4D is based on that original design but features a premium, water-resistant leather upper that gives golfers the same classic look but with added comfort.
The Adidas 4D midsole installed is the world’s first high-performance midsole made with light and oxygen. This is the brand’s first use of the 4D midsole in a golf shoe. The intricate lattice structure, printed with light and oxygen and utilizing Digital Light Synthesis™, creates a futuristic design aesthetic, but one that Adidas says serves its purpose as the responsive cushioning absorbs pressure from any angle and returns energy to the foot while supporting movement where it’s needed most. Complementing the comfortable 4D midsole, the MC87 4D features a studless rubber outsole for added traction and grip on the court.
