The new Adidas Confirmed app allows shoppers to select a limited-edition sneaker and reserve it from their phone for pickup in their neighborhood. A geo-location-specific technology allows the app to tell the shopper if the shoe is in stock, making it possible for instant confirmation of product availability while reducing long lines.
The app is being promoted in conjunction with the highly-anticipated Adidas Kanye West collaboration, which includes both footwear and the singer's own clothing line, in an effort to make it more user-friendly to get the coveted apparel and sneakers.
As of now, the app is available in the U.S. only, but Adidas aims to roll it out further. The Confirmed app is currently supported on iPhones starting with the 4S version all the way through the recent iPhone 6 Plus. It is also available on Google Play.
