Adidas Originals and the progressive Ukrainian label Kseniaschnaider have teamed up to present a “daring collaborative collection featuring a host of imaginatively unconventional garments, footwear, and accessories.”
Founded in 2011 by Ksenia and Anton Schnaider, Kseniaschnaider is an independent fashion house based in Kyiv that focuses on the creation of “boundary-pushing” ready-to-wear, denim, and upcycled apparel and accessories. Based on Ksenia’s design language with a vision of “design minus design” and Anton’s technical logic, the label challenges established conventions. The first joint collection, therefore, also opens up a new perspective on signature Adidas looks, combining the Ukrainian house’s signature aesthetic with Adidas’ instantly recognizable brand codes. For example, a number of denim pieces – including jeans, jackets and shirt dresses – are enhanced by frayed edges, voluminous cuts and quirky details. Secondly, Adidas classics are reinterpreted, with adiColor tracksuits, corsets and dresses reworked in a patchwork finish. The footwear selection includes eye-catching updates of the iconic adi2000, Forum Mid and Superstar sneakers.
The Adidas Originals x Kseniaschnaider collection will be available July 1 at adidas.com, kseniaschnaider.com and select Adidas stores.
