Adidas placed 2,200 footballs in 17 towns and cities in greater Paris and its region, Île-de-France, on Sept. 28 as Parisians were about to watch the match where the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) team beat Manchester City in the second round of the Champions League. The locations will include the Evry Skylight, the new Adidas playground in Nanterre and the Parisian neighborhoods of Barbès, République, Châtelet and the Champs Elysées. The action, which was meant to inspire the youths in these areas, was accompanied by a film featuring the iconic football star Lionel Messi, who recently left the Barcelona team to join PSG. Both teams are sponsored by Nike, but Messi is sponsored by Adidas. The campaign was designed by the Buzzman marketing agency, headquartered in Paris.
