To mark the start of the 2024 Grand Slam tennis season, Adidas has unveiled its spring/summer 2024 Melbourne apparel collection, for which it used, for the first time in a tennis range, its Airchill material technology.
Airchill involves loose-knit fabrics, which are said to optimize airflow during high-intensity games and workouts. The technology is deliberately placed in high sweat and evaporation zones: under the armpits and on the chest and back. The open mesh fabrics and raised patterns are meant to optimize airflow during high-intensity workouts and competition.
The new 26-piece range for men and women also features nature-inspired colors, specially crafted to help evoke a sense of calm, said the brand. The collection, made from 100 percent recycled materials, will be worn by players including Stefanos Tsitsipas, Caroline Wozniacki, Elina Svitolina, Felix Auger Aliassime, Xinyu Wang, Dana Mathewson, Jessica Pegula, Karolína Muchová, Maria Sakkari, Jason Wu and Martin de la Puente.
