Eric Liedtke has launched a brand of streetwear, called Unless, designed to require no materials derived from petroleum, in an effort to reduce the amount of polyester fed into landfills. Liedtke is a 25-year Adidas veteran, having served under such titles as executive board member in charge of global brands, head of sports performance and senior vice president of sport performance brand marketing. He led Adidas’ successful collaborations with Kanye West, Pharrell Williams and Beyoncé. Not coincidentally, he has served also on the board of Parley for the Oceans, the nonprofit that helps collect ocean plastic and supply it to apparel brands. This new venture is backed by Connect Ventures, a partnership between Creative Artists Agency and the venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates.
