Adoni Olabarri is to be Oxbow’s general manager for the Spanish, Portuguese and Andorran markets, replacing Fran Galarza who held the position for Spain and Andorra during three and a half years. Olabarri comes from a managing position with Quiksilver, where he oversaw the company’s franchising network. The appointment is reportedly a delayed reaction to Lafuma’s acquisition of Oxbow back in 2006, after which all country managers were changed – except Galarza in Spain. Several practical details remain to be decided, such as whether Galarza is to be kept on with the brand, and whether Oxbow Spain will move its headquarters closer to those of Lafuma in Barcelona.
