Adri Zwarthoff, formerly an international executive at O'Neill, has been appointed as chief executive of X-Tend, the Dutch company that functions as the Benelux subsidiary of Craft, the sports apparel brand owned by the New Wave group in Sweden. Zwarthoff spent the last 19 years at O'Neill, where he became country manager for the Netherlands and the U.K., as well as head of distributors. He decided to leave O'Neill a few weeks ago to focus on the care of his family after the death of his wife last December. At X-Tend Zwarthoff takes over from Johan Neperus, who died prematurely last May. The new chief executive will start at X-Tend from the beginning of October. Craft said that Zwarthoff's experience with a sports and lifestyle brand would be most relevant in the Benelux, which is one of Craft's most buoyant markets, as the brand wants to expand beyond its functional appeal.
