After divesting Courir, its chain of athletic footwear stores, the Go Sport Group has entered negotiations to sell off its Go Sport Montagne franchise to Skiset, a group founded in 1994 that is now operating 900 ski-rental stores internationally. Go Sport launched the franchise three years ago as a complement of its own stores in mountain regions a few years ago, after taking over Twinner's former franchising business in France in 2014. Go Sport currently has a network of 91 Go Sport Montagne franchises in France, and they were informed by official correspondence before the news went public. Skiset has informed its 380 stores in France. To ensure continuity, the Go Sport Montagne banner will remain active for up to 15 years. Skiset, for its part, announced a multi-banner strategy last spring, so maintaining the Go Sport banner will not be a problem. Go Sport's franchisees will nevertheless have the option of switching to the Skiset or Netski banners. Netski is new, having just been launched for this winter.
