After nearly 13 months in the job, one of Luxottica's two co-chief executives, Adil Mehboob-Khan, has left the company with immediate effect and a €6.8 million handshake. He will also get €200,000 to waive any claims against the company as well as his 2015 bonus and ordinary severance payments linked to the termination of his work contract, which officially ends on Feb. 29. The group's 80-year-old executive chairman and founder, Leonardo Del Vecchio, will take over Khan's responsibilities for markets, probably at least until next year, while the other CEO, Massimo Vian, will continue to oversee products and operations. Under the company's organizational structure, Khan was in charge of wholesale, retail, the vision insurance group Eyemed, marketing, e-commerce, business development as well as mergers and acquisitions. Apparently, Del Vecchio was not satisfied with the pace of changes within the company, including the fact that the planned integration of Oakley into the group has not yet been completed.
