After Nike sold Umbro to Iconix in October last year, Kiefer Sport cancelled the license agreement with effect from next November even though it was supposed to continue until the end of 2014. Kiefer Sport has distributed the brand in Germany since June 2008. Officially, Kiefer Sport has the distribution until the end of November, but the company says that it will be discontinued earlier. Apparently, Iconix and Kiefer Sport could not agree on a common strategy for the distribution of Umbro to independent retailers in Germany. On the other hand, Kiefer Sport, which has been responsible for the distribution of Nike's accessories in Germany since 2010, will now also take care of the officially licensed jerseys made by Polygraphic, global partner for their printing.
