After several years of legal squabbling, The North Face has settled a trademark dispute in Turkey to introduce the brand in this hugely promising market early next year. It will be distributed in the country through the Turkish subsidiary of the VF Corporation, the parent company of TNF, based in Istanbul. The brand’s deployment in Turkey will be led by Utku Arsoy, who has been with VF as Turkish sales manager for JanSport since 2001. While TNF was embroiled in its trademark issue, Columbia Sportswear had free rein in the growing Turkish market and it established itself as a strong market leader in the country’s outdoor apparel business.
