Aigle's owner, Maus Frères, has announced the appointment of Sandrine Conseiller as the new president of the Aigle brand. Conseiller spent 20 years at Unilever, where she held evolving roles, from brand manager up to vice president. Most recently, she was marketing and brand director of Lacoste, which is also owned by Maus Frères. In her new role at Aigle, she will replace Romain Guinier, who had been at the helm of the brand for 11 years. Guinier will take over the position of managing director of The Kooples, another company that Maus Frères acquired this spring. Before leaving Aigle, Guinier told Fashionetwork.com that the brand was expected to break the €200 million sales hurdle this year, after investing on omni-channel distribution and addressing a younger clientele. Sales grew to €187 million in 2018 excluding Aigle's business in Japan, which reached sales of €35 million last year under the management of Lacoste. The biggest markets for the brand are France, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan. Aigle had 190 stores in China, where it has a joint venture with Li NIng, and about 20 more will be added this year.
