Altamont Capital Partners has recruited Frank Heissat to fill a new position as general manager of Dakine for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will also act as European strategy vice president for Renegade Brands, the company that manages the Mervin, Libtech, Girl, HUF, Brixton, Fox and Hybrid Apparel brands, to help optimize their distribution in Europe. Heissat left as general manager of Le Coq Sportif in the middle of last year after a conflict of views with its shareholders. The French executive previously worked for almost eight years at Nike. After a job in the video game industry, he rejoined the sports industry in 2003, running Oxbow. He subsequently worked for Puma and ran Oakley Europe for three years before his appointment at Le Coq in June 2013. The European office of Dakine has been supervised remotely from the U.S. since it moved from the Basque coast to Annecy in mid-2014, following Altamont's purchase of the brand from Billabong in 2013. The brand has since started to diversify into technical outerwear and snow sports gloves.
