Altexa, an Italian company involved in the Ppastic resin & synthetic fiber manufacturing industry, announced the launch of a new HDry b5 laminate membrane at the Aug. 10-12 Outdoor Retailer trade show in Denver, in cooperation with its U.S. partner, GHS Holdings. The company’s new HDry b5 membrane is a bio-based 3D waterproof laminate that reduces dependence on fossil fuels in active performance gear with its 53 percent bio-based content, resulting in a high level of responsible technical performance, the company says, describing the product as follows: “The existing HDry compound is made by a polyurethane ester-based waterproof-breathable membrane combined with thin polyester knit. Material saving and lightness are its greatest advantages. HDry is PTFE-free, and no perfluorinated compounds (PFCs, PFOs, PFOAs, etc.) are used in its production. HDry does not contain any restricted substance of REACH–ECHA list and is Oeko-Tex certified.”
