Footwearology, the self-described “only academy for footwear professionals” with operations in Barcelona, has introduced a course called “AI for Footwear.”

Taught by Nicoline van Enter, one of the founders of Footwearology and Footwearology Lab, the course is designed for managers seeking an understanding of AI as well as for designers seeking to use it. It will introduce students to several paths from prompt to AI product, such as text to image, text to 3D model, 2D to 3D, and text or image to video.

The presented “workflows” will get more complex as time goes on, “showing how to connect AI to other digital design applications.” The school encourages students to take complementary courses in 3D design – and has set up a discount of 35 percent for the “full course bundle.” The “early bird” rate for the course alone is €350.

The classes are not recorded in advance “since developments move so fast in this field.” In fact, “only the first month is planned,” and the teacher will adjust the curriculum to match any sudden changes in the tech. The formula, then, is a weekly video lecture followed by a live class with a trainer, who will answer questions. Footwearology will maintain an archive of classes that newcomers and longtime students can consult at will. Students can therefore join the course at any time and gain access to all previous classes.

Students will also gain access to an AI Whatsapp group, which will present the latest news on AI from a footwear perspective.
