André Maestrini, who has been heading the Adidas Group in France for the last six years, was appointed at the helm of the group in Spanish Latin America, from the start of June. He will replace Charlie Maurath, who will head the international business of Under Armour from September. Maestrini himself will be succeeded in France by Alain Pourcelot, currently brand director for Adidas in the same country. Due to the international sports events to be held in Brazil in the coming years, the Adidas group's business in that country will continue to be run separately by Fernando Basualdo, who will report directly to Roland Auschel, the group's chief sales officer. Separately, Nike confirmed that Chris Kypriotis, general manager of Nike do Brasil, had left the company earlier this month, after a little more than one year in the job. Kypriotis, who previously led the GSM group in Brazil, has yet to be replaced.
