Andrew Barker, brand director for Mountain Hardwear and Montrail brands in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, has been appointed general manager for the whole Columbia Sportswear group in the U.K. and Ireland. Darren Wilcox, former sales manager for Columbia and Sorel in the two countries, has left the company. The more senior position for the U.K. market was created after a sharp sales increase in Europe last year. Barker acted previously as country manager for The North Face in the U.K. and Ireland, and then as its northern European sales manager. His assignment at Mountain Hardwear is unchanged.
