Another former executive of Foot Locker Europe has joined the management of Runners Point. Ton Verwijmeren, who has worked for the American chain for 24 years in various finance-related positions, including that of controller, has been appointed vice president of finance for the German retailer, which was acquired by Foot Locker a year ago. He will work together with Bart de Wilde, a former Foot Locker man who worked with Nike for many years and who was appointed recently as Runners Point's chief executive. Together, the two will take the places previously occupied by Otto Hurler and Harald Wittig, who led Runners Point after its management buyout from Karstadt Quelle in 2005. Hurler left in the spring.
