In a new four-year deal, Anta is the new exclusive supplier for the Chinese Olympic teams for 2010 and 2012. The $17.5 million deal includes other competitions as well, such as the Summer and Winter Youth Games, the Asian Games and the East Asian Games. Anta replaces Adidas as the brand athletes must wear at opening and closing ceremonies and when accepting medals. Anta is reportedly paying more than double what Adidas did.

Anta finished its last fiscal year on March 31 with a 55 percent increase in sales to 4,626.9 million renminbi (€481.6m-$678.2m) and a 66 percent jump in net income to RMB 894.8 million (€93.1m-$131.2m). It sold 26.8 million pairs of footwear, almost all of it locally through its 5,700 stores in smaller markets, for an average sales price of $14.62.
The company has recently become much more aggressive in raising its international profile, signing Jelena Jankovic, the former world No. 1 tennis player and Reebok endorser, as well as China’s top player, Zheng Jie.
