ANWR, the big buying group for shoe retailers and Sport 2000's licensee for Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg, wants to acquire the remaining outstanding shares of Garant Schuh + Mode, another buying group for shoe retailers. Additionally, Garant has members from the sporting goods retail sector under the Fair Play banner, mainly in the Benelux countries, Switzerland and Germany. In 2010, ANWR acquired 70 percent of Garant through a subsidiary called ANWR Garant International, which currently holds 90.42 percent of Garant's shares. ANWR is now planning to make a tender offer for the remaining shares in a squeeze-out process that will give it full ownership.
