Arena has signed a sponsorship deal with Bruno Fratus, the 25-year-old Brazilian swimmer who is the current Pan Pacific 50-meter freestyle champion and record holder. Fratus is expected to be a major contender at the 2016 Olympics in his home country. He has regularly been one of the top contenders in 50-meter freestyle finals since 2010, when he came fourth at the Pan Pacific Championships in the U.S. After an enforced sabbatical in 2013, due to surgery on a shoulder injury, he had an impressive 2014 season, which started with the 50-meter free gold medal at the South American Games in Santiago, Chile, and continued at Australia's Gold Coast for the Pan Pacific Championships, where he recorded the best performance in his career, taking the gold medal with the new championship record time of 21.44 seconds.
