As already announced in our last issue, Skins, the Swiss-based compression apparel company, has launched a cheeky advertising campaign to support its criticism of the current leadership at Fifa, the international football organization. The company proclaims itself a proud “official non-sponsor” of Fifa, as a means to highlight “unshared brand values” and to confirm its “contempt for an organisation which has been constantly shrouded in allegations of corruption and controversy.” The ad, accompanied by a witty clip starring Jaimie Fuller, Skins' chairman, was placed in the local newspaper of Sepp Blatter, the Fifa president, who will be seeking an unprecedented fifth term in office in May. The campaign implicitly criticizes Adidas and other official sponsors. It comes after the launch of the New Fifa Now organization, which held a summit in Brussels last month to demand full reform at Fifa.
