As part of a sub-licensing deal with Puma, Centauro has become the official retail partner of four African football federations. The leading sports retailer in Latin America obtained the right to put its logo on the training kit used by the football teams of the Ivory Coast, Senegal, Cameroon and Ghana until the end of the 2014 World Cup, which will be held in Brazil. Centauro will also fully deploy football replicas and other merchandising products relating to these African teams in at least 150 of its stores during the World Cup. The Confederations Cup, which will be held in Brazil in June this year, will be another opportunity to take advantage of the partnership. Puma and Centauro will also work together on a marketing campaign focusing on Yaya Touré, the Ivory Coast and Manchester City midfielder. The deal was announced in South Africa, where the Africa Cup of Nations kicked off two weeks ago.
