As part of the restructuring of its lifestyle division, New Balance promoted Joe Casagrande to be the general manager of the category, and hired Steve Gardner to replace him as its strategic business unit manager. The company is trying to make lifestyle a core part of its offerings on the global market. The duties of Casagrande, who worked previous for New Balance’s PF Flyers brand, include coordinating the division worldwide and boosting the lifestyle offerings of New Balance and PF Flyers. Gardner, who headed up Reebok’s lifestyle and classics business, will oversee strategies to promote the brand and the company’s financial goals. The reorganization is expected to help the company reach the goal of a $3 billion turnover by 2012.
