Asics’ American and Japanese entities have filed suit in California claiming that Skechers is violating its trademark stripe design on 64 of its products. It is alleging trademark infringement, unfair competition, trademark dilution and false advertising, and is asking for a permanent injunction against the use of the design. It is seeking damages including profits and legal fees. This is the second time in three years that Asics has sued Skechers; the earlier suit was settled.
