Asics Europe has set up a new and enlarged sales structure, with more specific roles, under Alistair Cameron, the former European New Balance manager who recently joined as executive vice president of sales and marketing. Two officials, Markus Hupach and Franck Menage, are now splitting the former responsibilities of Ron van der Linde for dealing with European strategic key accounts. Hupach, who comes from Asics Germany, will work with the likes of Intersport International and Sport 2000 International. Mesnage, formerly with Asics France, will be in charge of integrated chain retailers such as Décathlon and Foot Locker. Van der Linde will now focus on emerging markets. Rob van der Weiden, former senior manager of sales at Asics Europe, has been appointed senior operations and field sales manager, specifically responsible for developing support programs for specialist running retailers.
