Athleta, the premium sports and activewear brand under Gap Inc., has unveiled a new women’s workout collection designed for high-intensity movement.
Known for its yoga and pilates apparel, Athleta is expanding its focus to include high-performance training, with an eight-piece collection called Train, aimed at empowering women through rigorous workouts.
Reduced environmental impact
The collection is the result of over three years of thorough wear testing with diverse groups of women, including elite athletes and everyday consumers, along with third-party lab tests. It features proprietary PowerMove fabric, made of recycled polyester sourced from post-consumer plastic bottles, to reduce environmental impact.
Crafted with a fine 50-gauge double-knit machine, PowerMove is ultra-light, breathable and quick-drying. Its interlock construction provides optimal compression in both vertical and horizontal directions, ideal for medium- to high-impact workouts, like box jumps and burpees.
Wide range of products
Casey Schumacher, Athleta’s senior director of design, emphasized the brand’s commitment to empowering women through movement. The Train Collection reflects Athleta’s dedication to creating functional products with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring women can exercise without distraction.
Highlights of the collection include the Interval Tight, featuring a unique adhesive waistband for a customized fit, along with the Interval Stash Capri, Interval Stash Short and Interval Jacket. Additionally, Athleta offers an “unstoppable fleece” range for pre- and post-workout needs, including the Unstoppable Full Zip, Unstoppable Quarter Zip Vest and Unstoppable Jogger, made of proprietary Flex Fleece fabric.
Prices range from $69 to $135.
