The Tod's group has recruited Sergio Azzolari to be the new general brand manager for Hogan. He will take the place of Riccardo Sciutto, who left the company in the spring to run Sergio Rossi after its recent change of ownership. Azzolari, 48, has been running the European operations of Deckers Brands, the parent company of Ugg Australia, Teva, Sanuk and Hoka One One, for the past two years, replacing Steve Murray who is now running Dr. Martens.
The Italian executive started his career as area manager at Benetton Group in 1993. Five years later, he joined Artsana as international sales and marketing manager of the Italian baby-care group, which owns Chicco, Prenatal and other brands. In 2003, Azzolari was hired by Fornari Spa, the parent company of Fornarina, acting as commercial director until 2006, then moving to Asia to act as chief executive of Fornari Asia Pacific for the subsequent two years.
Prior to his two-year stint at Deckers, Azzolari spent four years with Luxottica in Italy and the U.S.
