Luxury fashion house Balenciaga has launched a limited series of clothes and accessories, including hats, scarves, jerseys, tracksuits, sweatpants and hoodies, inspired by the world of football. The collection is characterized by logos reminiscent of on- and off-duty uniforms worn by football teams during both gameday and off the pitch. Some pieces have the number ten on the back or front, a nod to both the football world and Balenciaga’s address in Paris, 10 Avenue George V.
It is not the first time that a fashion brand has been inspired by the popular sport: Prada has collaborated with Adidas on football boots. Inter Milan has worked with Moncler on collections. Another notable collaboration in the recent past involves the Arsenal women’s team when Adidas and Stella McCartney teamed up. For this season, Paris Saint-Germain has worked with Dior to design a wardrobe for the club’s teams.
