Bart Muurling has been appointed interim general manager of Intersport Nederland after the departure of Nico van Offeren last year. The retailer has been under temporary leadership for several months, since Van Offeren left to take charge of Masai Trading Benelux, selling MBT shoes. Muurling has been at Intersport Nederland since last April, managing the Intersport stores that belong to the Bouchier Groep and Van Gerven de Jong. He replaces Oscar van den Ende, general manager of Intres, the larger buying group to which Intersport Nederland belongs. Van den Ende took over temporarily in the wake of Van Offeren’s sudden departure, and it was said at the time that a full appointment would take some time since Intres was taking the opportunity to review its organization. It remains unclear when a more permanent general manager will be appointed.
