Béal, the French supplier of climbing ropes, is going into the apparel business by acquiring a French brand for technical outdoor clothing, Vertical. That company was for sale after the man behind the company, Patrice Dheu, tragically found his death in the mountains a few weeks ago. Béal plans to keep up a separate organization for the Vertical brand.
