Bill Sweeney, had of business development at Puma, has been hired as chief executive of the British Olympic Association (BOA). Starting in mid-November, Sweeney will oversee Britain's preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, as well as the next 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He will be responsible for running the day-to-day operations under Sebastian Coe, BOA's chairman. Sweeney, 55, who has also worked for Adidas, directed Usain Bolt's commercial activities for Puma in connection with the 2012 London Olympics. He has been in charge of Puma's business development since 2010. He has also worked on Puma's deal with the winning Oracle sailing team at the recent America's Cup.
