Billabong International has appointed Kadima Lonji to the strategic position of chief technology officer for its direct-to-consumer operations, charged with developing the group's e-commerce and omni-commerce capabilities. He reports to Jeff Straeder, chief operating officer. Lonji comes from Luxottica, the big international eyewear group, where he acted as global director of omni-commerce systems, where he was particularly in charge of developing the oakley.com and rayban.com digital platforms. After graduation from McGill University in Montreal, he worked for Saks Fifth Avenue, Barnes & Noble and J. Crew before joining Luxottica in 2011. Separately, Billabong has announced that Tracey Wood, international general counsel of the company, will combine this function with that of company secretary as of July 18. Maria Manning, who has been company secretary since 2006, is resigning.
