Billabong will build its presence in India through a new distribution agreement with Arvind Lifestyle Brands, a subsidiary of Arvind Ltd., a large textile and apparel company in the country. Arvind will sell the Australian surfwear brand in standalone stores as well as shop-in-shops in department and multi-brand stores. Arvind, which runs 730 stores and 650 shop-in-shops in India, expects to increase its position on the youth market through the new agreement. Its other licensing deals include Nautica, Arrow, Cherokee and Geoffrey Beene.
