BioLogic has announced the launch of its Bluetooth Smart Speed/Cadence Sensor, enabling cyclists to turn a smartphone into a full-featured cycling computer. The new device wirelessly transmits information to a Bluetooth Smart Ready device so that users, through an appropriate app, can track their workout through their smartphone. The sensor uses the latest Bluetooth 4.0 protocol available on iPhone and Android smartphones and is compatible with various cycling apps. An energy efficient protocol allows for about 700 hours of use from a single battery. The sensor will be available in the second quarter of 2014. BioLogic, a specialist in urban cycling gear, will display the Bluetooth Smart Speed/Cadence Sensor, along with other new products, at the 2014 Taipei Cycle Show, running on March 5-8.
