Blake Mycoskie, the American social entrepreneur and author who funded Toms Shoes, is joining the B Team, the not-for-profit initiative of Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin, and Jochen Zeitz, the former chief executive of Puma International who initiated the environmental profit and loss accounting system adopted by Kering. The B Team federates entrepreneurs who want to create a future world where business will drive social, environmental and economic benefits for the general population. Under its One for One giving model, Toms gives a pair of new shoes to a child in need for each pair sold. To date, the company has given away over ten million pairs of shoes and restored sight to over 200,000 individuals through its eyewear program.
