Bluesign has reminded bluesign-certified manufacturers and brands that they are to have no long-chain C8 durable water repellents (DWR) in their products or supply chains as from Jan. 1. However, the Swiss certification company also mentioned that the positive list of bluesign-approved chemical products (bluesign bluefinder) includes several short-chain DWR products and more than 25 fluorine-free products, all of which can be used as alternatives to the long-chain perfluorinated chemicals.
