Both ÖSFA, the successful sports trade show in Austria, and VSSÖ, the country’s lobbying group for sporting goods manufacturers and retailers, are going through big changes in their managements.VSSÖ, which will celebrate its 60th anniversary next year, has a new president. Walter Schwarzinger, a long-time veteran of Tyrolia who is now 77 years old, was replaced after 16 years in office by Gernot Kellermayr, Fischer’s sales director for Austria since 2000. Also the MGC/MECs Fashion- and Eventcenter in Salzburg-Bergheim, which houses the ÖSFA fair twice a year and a Bike & Trim show annually, has a new chief executive. Robert Bolland from TCN Property Projects in the Netherlands, who was in charge of the Dutch Sports Business Center in Leusden before, is the new CEO in Salzburg since March 1. TCN bought the Salzburg show center in the Spring of 2007. Wolf Dieter Kepplinger, who has been CEO of MGC/MEC for 25 years, will have only an advisory function from now on. His long experience in business should also help TCN in developing international projects. Two center managers will be in charge of the operative business: Petra Kogler will be the contact person for the numerous brands that are represented in the center’s permanent showrooms. Thomas Jungreithmair is going to be responsible for the agenda of the MECs and therefore also in charge of the fairs and other events. The MGC/MECs Fashion- and Eventcenter is part of a network of international centers of trade focusing on fashion and sports. All these centers cooperate with TCN, which manages and develops suitable real estate concepts. It is represented in the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Spain, Great Britain, the UK, Russia and South Africa. Furthermore it runs activities in Austria and in Turkey. The company was established in 1994. At the moment TCN has 350 employees.
