Adidas is the new partner of Swedish Athletics. But one special pole vault guy sponsored by Puma was absent from the photoshoot. Will Mondo compete in three stripes?

Adidas is the new partner of Swedish Athletics. After a partnership of several years with the Swedish brand Craft, the Swedish team has opted instead to wear the three stripes, with a kit that will make its debut this spring, at the European Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn on March 6-9.

Sweden will compete in Adidas clothing over the LA28 games.

“We look forward to experiencing success and historic moments,” says Elin Sundell Nilsson, Sports Marketing Director for Adidas Nordic.

Together with Adidas, Swedish Athletics has developed a new national team collection inspired by energy, vibration and electric movement.

Adidas is not sleeping when it comes to signing track and field teams. At the beginning of 2025, SGI Europe said that the company had become the new kit supplier of the Norwegian Athletics.

No Mondo. But he will wear the official Adidas Swedish clothing. In Duplantis’s absence, here are Olof Ryberg, Isak Hughes, Bianca Salming, Carolina Wikström, Tobias Montler, Carmen Cernjul, and Linnéa Frobe showcasing the new national team apparel.

Claes Winterfeldt, Commercial Director at Swedish Athletics, says that the collaboration with Adidas means a lot to both the federation and the athletes. “It feels great that the collaboration with Adidas is now really underway. The first time we get to see the new competition collection in its true element in the arena will be during the European Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn in early March, but for now, we get a sneak peek at what they will look like, and we like what we see.”

“Having one of the world’s biggest sports brands as a partner means a lot to Swedish Athletics,” he continues. ”Our athletes will get the highest possible quality of competition wear, and we will be able to offer a really nice supporter collection. We will be able to grow strong together with Adidas, both in the arenas and outside.”

But what about one of the most outstanding track and field athletes, some say the greatest in the last years and the best pole vaulter of all time? Armand “Mondo” Duplantis has been a Puma athlete since he first appeared in the biggest events. Of course, Mondo is of significant interest in Adidas sponsorshipping the Swedish team; he gets far the most recognition when speaking of air time and focus during every international competition. Will Mondo compete in an Adidas kit?

“I can answer briefly about Mondo,” said Alexander Balsom, Brand Communication Manager at Adidas Nordics to SGI Europe. “In all international competitions that are under the flag of the Athletics Federation, he competes in our clothes, such as the European Championships and the World Championships (not the Olympics). It is his private sponsor for other competitions such as the Diamond League.”
