Norway is for sure one of the booming track and field nations of the last few years, having won a lot of medals in World Championships and the Olympics. Track and field superstars Henrik, Filip and Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Karsten Warholm will from now on wear stripes when competing for Norway.

After six years with Puma, Adidas announced a long-term partnership with the Norwegian Athletics Federation (NFIF). The partnership starts now and will last for eight years until 2032, spanning two Olympics. The first big competition year will be in 2026 which includes the European U23 Championships in Norway in July and the World Championships in Tokyo in September.

During a press conference together with the NFIF, Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden, being a Norwegian citizen himself, really looked forward to this partnership as something extra.

“As a Norwegian, I am very proud of our collaboration and look forward to celebrating many future victories and successes,” Gulden said. “We are very pleased to be able to enter into a partnership with the Norwegian Athletics Federation. Through this collaboration, we will do what we do best: work with the athletes and ensure that they can perform at their very highest level. By forming a team with Norway’s successful athletes, we will also strengthen the Adidas brand and our visibility in all athletics arenas and competitions around the world.”

And there is more to come, the Adidas boss said.

“Adidas and I are very happy that NFIF and Adidas have reunited. Athletics is at the heart of all sports and at the heart of the Olympic Games. Adidas wants to be more visible in athletics,” Gulden concluded.
