New Zealand’s Olympic team gets its first-ever footwear partner with Brooks Running

Brooks Running has signed as the first official footwear partner of the New Zealand Team, in a multi-year deal running from the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games through to the LA28 Olympic Summer Games. It is the first time an entire New Zealand Olympic squad has been fully sponsored by a single footwear brand, closing a gap in a program where apparel has long been covered by New Zealand-based Kathmandu but no exclusive footwear partner existed.

The deal lands weeks after Brooks reported the strongest quarter in the company’s history, with first-quarter 2026 global sales up 23%, growth of 20% in North America and 30% on a currency-neutral basis in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and a 136% jump in China. That momentum, plus a leadership restructuring the brand undertook in the same quarter to support global scaling, forms the backdrop against which Brooks is now extending its reach into national-team sponsorship.

Under the agreement, Brooks supplies Team Footwear for opening and closing ceremonies, medal presentations, and wear inside the Olympic and Commonwealth Games Villages. Athletes competing at Glasgow this month at the Commonwealth Games will be first to wear footwear developed specifically for the New Zealand Team, with further iterations planned ahead of the LA28 opening ceremony. The partnership also extends to youth and pre-elite New Zealand Team athletes, broadening Brooks’ footprint beyond its elite roster.
