Chinese sportswear brand Anta, which is also an official partner of the Chinese Olympic Committee, has unveiled the outfit that the Chinese delegation will wear at the medal ceremonies during the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.

Anta, part of publicly listed Anta Sports, which also includes brands such as Arc’teryx, Salomon, Wilson, Peak Performance and Atomic, has its headquarters in Quanzhou in the southeast Chinese province of Fujian. According to Anta, several environmentally friendly technologies are used in producing the newly launched outfit, and recycled fibers reduce carbon emissions by more than 50 percent. The outfits have been “certified by authoritative organization as carbon-neutral Olympic equipment.”

Chinese director Zhang Yimou, who was already involved with both the 2008 Olympics and the 2022 Winter Olympics (both in Beijing), acted as a design consultant for the outfit. The design picks up on elements of the Chinese dragon and combines traditional techniques such as embossed printing, patchwork and embroidery. The classic Chinese style and color scheme of the outfit are intended not only to show the richness and beauty of Chinese culture but also to “reflect the spirit of new-generation Chinese athletes who are willing to excel.”
