The deal gives both professional teams and amateur riders digital access to Giro d’Italia and Strade Bianche routes – and signals how cycling’s race organizers are monetizing their route assets beyond race day.
Rouvy has secured official training partner status for the Giro d’Italia and a portfolio of other RCS Sports events, gaining digital rights to bring key race routes to its indoor cycling platform for both professional and amateur use.
A race organizer opens up its route assets
The deal, announced March 6, covers men’s and women’s editions of the Giro d’Italia as well as other races in the RCS portfolio, including Strade Bianche and Il Lombardia. The 2026 Strade Bianche course – scheduled for the same day as the announcement – was already live in the Rouvy app, alongside a number of climbs previously featured in the Giro. Additional routes from the RCS calendar will be added across the season, with Rouvy also working to capture new real-world footage from upcoming races.
For professional cycling teams, the partnership provides access to detailed stage profiles ahead of race day, supporting indoor training and route reconnaissance. For consumers, Rouvy is creating digital versions – or digital twins – of two major sportive events: the Gran Fondo Strade Bianche and the Gran Fondo Il Lombardia, allowing participants to train on and explore the routes in advance, then re-ride them retrospectively.
Inheriting Bkool’s position – and expanding it
The partnership carries commercial history. Rouvy takes over the slot previously held by Bkool, a Spanish indoor cycling platform that RCS Sports worked with until Rouvy acquired it in 2025. The transition consolidates Rouvy’s position in the European connected fitness market and suggests the Czech company is accelerating its strategy to associate its platform with premium cycling properties.
Petr Samek, CEO of Rouvy, said: “The Giro d’Italia and all of RCS’s races represent highlights in the pro cycling calendar for a large part of the cycling community, and to be able to bring these to life for our own riders at Rouvy is a really exciting step.”

Why it matters for the sporting goods and fitness industry
The deal reflects a broader commercial logic emerging across endurance sports: rights-holders are increasingly treating their route and event IP (intellectual property) as licensable assets, not merely backdrop for broadcast. For fitness platforms, attaching to marquee event brands provides differentiation in a crowded market – Zwift, Wahoo’s Systm and others compete for the same cycling consumer base.
Rouvy’s growth path is notable. Founded in 2017 by brothers Petr and Jiri Samek from Vimperk, in the South Bohemian region of Czechia, the company built its platform around video-based indoor training – combining real-world footage with trainer integration. Today it employs more than 100 people and is based in Prague.
