Finland’s Luhta Sportswear Company has presented the official Olympic Team Finland apparel collection for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. The collection blends Nordic design, fashion aesthetics and technical innovation and debuts alongside Luhta’s new flagship store in Helsinki.
It also continues a partnership with the Finnish Olympic Committee that began in 2017. Finnish athletes will be wearing Luhta at all official events – from ceremonies to travel and leisure.
Design inspired by Lapland
The collection draws from the serene beauty of Finnish Lapland, where the last rays of daylight paint the sky in deep blue tones. That palette, together with clean lines and minimalist silhouettes, reflects both Finnish identity and the blending of fashion and function expected in the host city of Milan. “Fashion and functionality meet seamlessly in the collection,” said Jeri Luhtanen, Division Director at Luhta Sportswear Company.
Sustainability and craftsmanship
The line emphasizes circular design, recycled materials and animal-welfare-certified fabrics. Each outfit was co-developed with athletes, coaches and performance staff to meet specific sport and climate needs at the Games’ eight venues. “We’re responsible for our products throughout their life cycle,” Luhtanen added. “Items can be returned and recycled after the Games.”
Athletes praise design and performance
“Wearing the Finnish team outfit gives confidence and pride,” said Jasmi Joensuu, cross-country skier and member of the 2026 team. “It combines style and functionality perfectly.”
Why it matters
The partnership showcases Finnish design and sustainability leadership on the Olympic stage, positioning Luhta alongside global sportswear heavyweights that traditionally outfit national teams.
In time for the collection’s debut, Luhta opened a new speciality store on Helsinki’s Pohjoisesplanadi street on Oct. 29. The store displays the official Olympic opening-ceremony outfit and sells selected pieces from the Luhta Olympic Team Finland collection, also available online.
