Nike has teamed up with Hyperice, a California-based wellness brand specializing in therapy technology, to create boots and a vest designed “to take warm-up and recovery to the next level.”
The Nike x Hyperice Boot is a high-top shoe that offers heat and dynamic air-compression massage on demand for the athletes’ feet and ankles. The technology revolves around a system of dual-air Normatec bladders bonded to warming elements, which distribute heat throughout the upper. The heat that is driven deep into the muscle and tissue in the foot and ankle is meant to help athletes move and recover naturally and faster. Athletes can synchronize the heat and compression of both shoes by pressing a button but can also decide to run the left and right shoes individually. They can select from three distinct levels of compression and heat powered by a battery pack in each shoe’s insole.
The Nike x Hyperice Vest provides instant heating and cooling without the need for ice or liquid, helping athletes control their body temperatures during warm-up and cool-down phases. Similar to the technology utilized in the Hyperice X line of contrast devices, the vest uses thermoelectric coolers that deliver instant heating and cooling. The vest contains thermal modules with sensors that autonomously monitor and maintain body temperature. By pressing those thermal modules inward, an air bladder and pressure sensor within the vest adjusts to the body.

The brands are gathering feedback from athletes as they integrate the products into their routines. The Nike x Hyperice innovations will be released later, the brands said.
