Puma has entered into a collaboration with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One team (MAPF1) and Ræburn, a London-based creative studio known for reusing surplus materials.

Within the scope of the partnership, the trio is mainly drawing on Ræburn’s upcycling experience. The creative studio creates unique collection pieces from worn-out racing suits from the MAPF1 team, combined with Puma’s athletic heritage. The result: A collection that combines elements of race suits worn by MAPF1 drivers and mechanics, including legendary seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, with Ræburn’s upcycling methods. By transforming these elements into elevated fashion pieces through innovative design and the use of recycled materials, this collection redefines modern luxury in sports fashion. Each piece embodies a fusion of rich motorsport heritage and craftsmanship.
There are three different product ranges highlighting different aspects of the partnership:
- The heroic championship jacket, made from an original Nomex racing suit worn by Hamilton at the Spanish Grand Prix in August 2020, will be auctioned online after the British Grand Prix. It is a unique piece made just for the occasion.
- The other masterpieces combine suits worn by Hamilton and Russell and their mechanics during the 2022 season. These unique pieces will not be available directly from Puma but through a raffle on puma.com.
- Finally, the collection includes an extremely limited number of items made from deadstock Nomex – unused remnants of the same high-performance material used for racing suits. These deadstock Nomex pieces retain the integrity and durability of racewear and are repurposed into stylish, street-ready apparel that embodies the essence of motorsports.
Through Ræburn’s upcycling techniques, Nomex is transformed into fashionable, street-ready clothing and limited edition sneakers such as the Velophasis and Spirex. “Each piece in the collection embodies the values of being recycled and reimagined, showcasing the seamless blend of style and performance,” says Puma about this collection.
