eVent Fabrics, the US-based specialist for waterproof and breathable fabric technology, is renaming its plant-based, ePTFE-free laminates for spring/summer 2026. Previously known as Bio Waterproof and Bio Windproof, the products will now be marketed as stormST and windstormST, respectively.

The rebranding aligns with eVent’s new “defy the elements” tagline and aims to clarify the company’s focus on sustainable, high-performance materials. “We introduced eVent Bio in 2016, perhaps before the market was ready for it,” said Chad Kelly, President of eVent Fabrics. “The term ‘bio’ has become diluted across consumer markets, and we wanted names that better represent our products’ weather-protecting performance.”

The shift is part of eVent’s strategy to strengthen its position in the outdoor, activewear, fashion, hunting, fishing, golf, cycling and footwear markets. Starting in February 2025, the company will discontinue promoting Bio branding assets and transition entirely to stormST and windstormST. However, Bio-branded products will remain in the market through mid-2026, to accommodate existing sales cycles.

eVent will debut stormST and windstormST at Performance Days in Munich this March.
