Speedo Ocean Flex is made with Hyosung TNC recycled textile

Speedo has introduced an outdoor swimwear range made with its new GRS and RCS-certified Ocean Flex fabric. Ocean Flex is made from an 80/20 blend of Hyosung TNC’s GRS-certified regen ocean nylon, made from discarded fishing nets, and RCS-certified 100-percent recycled regen spandex. South Korean textile manufacturer Hyosung TNC is the world’s largest producer of spandex.

The manufacture of 1kg of regen Ocean nylon reduces CO2 emissions by 51 percent compared to the production of 1kg of conventional nylon, claims Hyosung based on independent Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data. Hyosung TNC, in partnership with mill developer Hung Yen, introduced this recycled textile innovation in 2024.
